Supermodel ELLE MACPHERSON has quashed reports she's dating the 21-year-old son of movie director JULIAN SCHNABEL, insisting she's single. The 44-year-old sparked rumours of a relationship with Vito Schnabel after the pair were photographed out and about in New York together earlier this month (Feb08). And filmmaker/artist Schnabel has gone on record and given the reported romance his blessing. But, when MACpherson was asked if she's currently dating anybody during an appearance on comedienne Ellen DeGeneres' show recently, the Aussie model replied, "No, I'm not."

In an experiment with college students in long-term relationships, researchers at UCLA and the online dating service eHarmony found that asking coeds to reflect on the love they felt for their boyfriends or girlfriends blunted the appeal of especially attractive members of the opposite sex. "Popular culture may mix romantic love up with sexual desire, but from an evolutionary perspective, romantic love fulfills a different function," Haselton said. "Love is a commitment device, which has evolved to make us identify and stick with a long-term mate long enough to raise a child. Our ancestors who had this ability were more successful in raising their offspring to maturity, so the adaptation got passed along to us."
The researchers invited 120 heterosexual undergraduates in committed relationships to pore over photographs of attractive members of the opposite sex.

Samantha Fletcher, 15, says the cyber attack is the result of a schoolyard feud and wants the US website Dating Psychos to take down her "profile", which accuses her of racially taunting classmates and insulting an anorexic student, report the Courier Mail.
She said the site had refused to remove the material unless she paid it $20.
The teenager, who lives on Brisbane's southside, said she was shocked to find the vitriolic profile on the dating site after she entered her name into a search engine last year.

Joel Madden doesn't think it's weird that his twin brother Benji is dating his fiance's best friend Paris Hilton.
The Good Charlotte rocker - who has a two-month-old daughter Harlow with Nicole Richie, Paris' The Simple Life co-star - says his brother's relationship with the hotel heiress is "nothing new".
Speaking at the opening of the Madden brothers' new DCMA Collective clothing store, Joel said: "It's not the first time we have all hung out.
"We have obviously known Paris for a long time, and Nicole and Paris have known each other for a long time, so it's nothing new."
The two couples turned up to help celebrate the store opening in Los Angeles.

Sheryl Crow is reportedly dating movie producer Steve Bing, the father of Elizabeth Hurley's son Damien.
The couple have kept their relationship under wraps since meeting through mutual friend Jennifer Aniston last year.
A source told Star: "A few weeks ago things got a little more intimate between them. They are really bonding - they have more in common than anyone thought."
Bing filed a lawsuit against Hurley to establish whether he was the father of Damien, now five. A DNA test subsequently proved that the baby was his.
