Ireland's Gary Murphy believes a laid-back approach will pay dividends in the Inteco Russian Open at the Le Meridien Moscow Country Club. Murphy is still seeking his first European Tour title after more than 200 starts but has a superb record in the Russian capital. The 35-year-old from Kilkenny was fifth last year behind runaway winner Per-Ulrik Johansson, and third in 2006 behind Spain's Alejandro Canizares.Murphy was among the early starters today, playing in the group in front of star attraction John Daly, the former Open champion looking to bounce back from missing the cut at Birkdale last week after rounds of 80 and 89.

If you are planning to buy golf balls then you should be aware about a few things so as to make an inteThe factor is the kind of game you play and how do you play. The ball can vary if you are a long or a short hitter. The ball may vary if you hook more than you slice . That means you need to decide the type of game you play . You are better off buying golf balls in bulk as that will help reduce cost. Also never ever lose sight of the fact that almost anybody who is an advanced player started as a beginner and patience definitely is a virtue you need to have.As you gain proficiency in your game then you need to have advanced balls to help keep up with your game and these balls are known as multi layer balls. These golf balls definitely give you an edge when you play professionally but yes they cost a fortune.

Itis no surprise that more and more women are starting to pick up golf clubs and head out to the course. But before you head out to the tee, keep these few fundamentals in mind.
First, rest the club on the ground, and then place your left hand on the club (if you are right handed). Make sure the thumb on your left hand is placed on top of the club’s grip so that it is pointing towards the ground. Your thumb and index finger will make a ‘V’ that should be pointing towards your chin. The ‘V’ of the thumb and index finger of the right hand should point towards the right shoulder. Don’t grip the club too tight; in reality you should place relatively little pressure on the club, the left elbow on the takeaway. This is wrong! On the takeaway, your left elbow should ALMOST be locked straight, and remain this way until the end of the follow-through.
Do not try to use your wrists to help the ball in the air. In reality, swinging DOWN, not up on the ball, is what carries it into the air.
Do not just use your arms in your swing. Use your whole body. Turn your hips as you are making contact with the ball.
These are just a few tips that I thought would be useful for beginner women golfers. Keep these in mind before teeing off.

Tip 1:
Leave yourself plenty of time for breakfast, take a steady drive to the game and play a really up-lifting CD on the way.Give yourself time to warm up and hit a few balls but do not try and prove to yourself that you are playing well in case you hit a few practice swings that you are not happy with - you do not want to take this to the golf course with you. Believe in yourself and you will play better golf - guaranteed!
Tip 2:
Once you get to the course ignore any negativity from fellow players. Many golfers turn up with a negative attitude and a whole catalogue of excuses as to why they are not going to play well before they have hit their first ball. They will carry this mind set onto the golf course with them. Tip 3: If it is negative tell it to STOP! Then replace it with a positive thought. The idea is to get yourself into a frame of mind where you look forward to standing on that first tee.YOU WANT TO it is your hobby and it is supposed to be FUN! (I have written a FREE REPORT called 'How to Overcome First Tee Nerves which is FREE with the Introductory Programme.)

In order to eliminate the likelihood of creating the fat shot, try to make a few adjustments, as described below:
Watch your bend. Make sure you are not bending into the ball during your downswing. Maintain the same amount of bend within your waist, hips, and knees, throughout the entire downswing. At address, be conscious of your weight and keep it balanced between the heels and the balls of your feet. On the downswing, transfer your weight from the right foot to the left. Doing so will prevent the club from bottoming out too early.Lastly, try adjusting the ball by moving it back approximately 1 inch in your stance.Hitting two more fairways and greens, and shedding two putts per round, can lower your scores by up to ten shots!

For the majority of golfers facing this problem, their fat shots are typically the result of the bottom of the swing arc being too far behind the ball. The causes of this can vary. One reason is due to having too much bend at the waist and knees during your downswing. A second cause might be improper weight shift. In this instance, the bulk of the weight needs to be shifted to the left, but it remains on the right foot during the downswing (right-handed golfers). A third reason involves your swing plane being too steep. And lastly, fat shots can be caused by playing the ball a bit too forward within your stance.

Tiger Woods earned nearly $128 million last year -- $22.9 million on the course and approximately $105 million off it. Here are some of the companies that help make him the richest athlete on the planet.
Tiger Woods sports Nike clothing from head to toe, and with the exception of his putter, uses Nike clubs and balls. He signed a new multi-year deal with Nike in December 2006, and though the terms were not released, his five-year deal in 2001 was widely reported to be worth $100 million.
